Music Therapy for Young Children

and Their Families

Have you ever observed young children play? If yes, you might have realized that young children often accompany their play with singing, chanting, rhyming, dancing, listening to music or making music themselves.

Music is a natural way for children to explore the world and to interact with their social environment. Therefore, music is a great medium and motivator to encourage and support young children’s learning and development.

Learn about evidence-based music therapy interventions that can be embedded in children's daily routines. Expand your skills by applying goal-oriented music strategies.

Not only was working with Dr. Kern a wonderful and fun experience, but her music therapy program helped tremendously in my class with transitions, daily activities, and expressive and receptive language growth.  ~ Lisa Soddu Stinnett, FPG Lead Teacher.
